we had Shakira closing out her year on the Oral Fixation Project w/ Las De la Intuicion / Pure Intuition... we had Rihanna making it huge we had Nelly Furtado and Gwen Stefani carring their most important singles 2 date... .. it was pretty awesome 10/10
As a whole, a 6.5. If it weren't for Crank That, Beautiful Girls and Party Like A Rockstar......it would be 8.5/10.
In 2007, rock was at an all-time high for me with Flyleaf, Paramore, Plain White T's, Boys Like Girls, Maroon 5 (more pop ac rock but still), Lifehouse coming back strong, etc.
Pop and Country was pretty stable with Ashley Tisdale, Carrie Underwood and Rihanna making waves along with Nelly Furtado and Fergie. Ashley gets a 10/10 for me.
R&B was a bit down for me with not many great r&b stars other than Alicia Keys and Beyonce in the early part of the year. The big downers for me were Akon and T-Pain.
For me, Rap and Hip-Hop were at an all-time low with Soulja Boy, Hurricane Chris, Shop Boyz, Lil Mama, this DJ Khaled and The-Dream whoever they are...and now Flo Rida. Only Kanye West and Chamillionaire did it for me for this genre.
An 8! It's missing something and I think it has to be the comebacks it was nice that Britney was able to make a comeback but I was hoping we would see some comebacks from Usher and his idol and perhaps mentor Michael Jackson
FOB, White Stripes, Maroon 5, Linkin Park coming back with some pretty good music, despite her detractors Britney Spears came back with a not-so bad album, even though it was released last year, I picked up and enjoyed MCR's The Black Parade.
overall, not so good, but not as bad as i think it's going to get ...
