Does this change the fact that she is much more children-oriented than most popstars (in regards to looks, videos, songs, etc.)? I'm not saying that she is made only for children. I'm not saying that at all. That's why she is also very sexualized and thus why Sesame Street didn't air her video. But to deny the fact that she is using a lot of children's imagery is deluded. It's not shade to talk about someone's demographic nor to point out a visual theme they use. My point was that she is much more child-oriented than most popstars. Sesame Street banning her does not negate this. Do you think a Rihanna or Miley one would even be made in the first place?
At the same time, it could be argued that Katy is not engaging in child-like imagery but donning a kawaii-like aesthetic (like Nicki Minaj) which may look childish but not be about children at all.
