Demons and Thrift Shop can't believe you put Roar in your list though
AlunaGeorge and Vampire Weekend Like you, I've known VW since they first came out and I am so glad that they have proven again with this album that they're here to stay. They have their own distinctive style and there'd be something missing without them.

I love him since he released his first record back then. After that i keep looking his albums, and love every single album from him. Then he come with Blurred Lines, and BANG, he is everywhere. Though i kinda disappointed with his Blurred Lines (compared with his previous songs) but it is still my jam this year. I hope he will switch back to the old Robin Thicke later. Less commercial but more quality. (i really hate when he released Give It 2 U, it's like his worst record to date ) but he still one of my favorite this year
EMPIRE OF THE SUN
Yeah, they are weird. I mean, what the hell are they thinking with using those clothes and properties , aside of that, they are an amazing artist. I used to like them from "Ice on the Dune" era, and after they dropped thieir latest album this year, i love them even more. Their music is so relaxing and danceable in the same time.
MUMFORD & SONS
They might be the pioneer and take Fol music back to the mainstream, and it is a success until this year. Some of the songs grows on me and the album Babel still on my list for the 2012 album that i still heard this year. With this kind of record, i really want to see their next album, hoping it will be more diverse and package the folk music in a different but great way
P!NK
She constantly appear on my top artist every year. This year is the continue success of her last album. She still on her pop rock roots and never change it recently, that's the reason i really adore her. She might be sounds more commercial and pop but I just can't resist her pretty voice and her stage act. That dance on Try video is sick!
ED SHEERAN
After a while, finally there is another solo male vocalist that become my favorite one. He didn't released any album this year, but one of his single that he released this year is one of my favorite one. The album is really great imo, and with his sophomore album released next year, if he can make a solid album just like his first one, i bet he become more popular and be one of my most favorite solo male ever
I thought i will just like 1 song from Twenty One Pilots, then i heard some of the song and the result is i falling in love with this song. It is really simple song but the guitar and the vocal is just sweet and fun to hear. IT gives us the softer side from them and it is quite nice too
I KNEW YOU WERE TROUBLE
Taylor Swift Red
Taylor Swift with Dubstep touch, never expected this before. At the first time i heard this song it was kinda weird. But like i said, Taylor Swift is going so different on some songs in this Red album. Some might hate it some might love it. I love this one. Really fun song and that chorus part is so singable. not really a trouble song imo
BURN
Ellie Goulding Halcyon Days
This song was written by Ryan Tedder and Nate Russ. 2 of my most favorite vocalist recently. Originally this song was written for Leona Lewis, but Ellie take it and make this song as the single. The result is quite nice production from them. Ellie is my favorite girl now. And glad to see Burn released this year.
DIANE YOUNG
Vampire Weekend Modern Vampires of the City
without intro and this song is already kicking so great. It is so typical of Vampire Weekend for making a unusual beat and part of songs. I instantly love this song the first time i heard it. It is catchy, easy listening, and lovely song. never disappointed band
RELOAD
Sebastian Ingrosso and Tommy Trash featuring John Martin Reload (Single)
EDM was so big these years. But not all of EDM was that good. Reload is the example of great EDM imo. The beat, is sick! the vocal is also great and the hook makes me wanna dance all night. that's the criteria for making a great EDM song, take that to other DJ that made a lame music recently
