I understand your idea and you're probably right but it's not even slightly apparent as to how she relates to all the other people in the video. What I deduced from the video was that she was lonely and without unconditional love..
The imagery is beautiful but the storyline is either too deep or nonexistent, whatever it is, it doesn't matter because most people don't understand what's going on.

I agree with this.
Clearly the symbolism is lost on me since all I see is an
Anna Karenin knock-off with bad CGI "flames" on her while she tries to merge the Madonna/***** complex into whatever she thinks she wants to be. Plus the CGI car crash is nearly as ridiculous as her Girl On Fire impersonation. Seriously, the CGI is horrendous in this video and is completely obvious, no matter how good the styling is.
Pretty video but utterly useless in the grand scheme of things and actually detracts from the song due to the sensory overload and the "plot" and "symbols" going right over everyone's head. She actually should have stuck with the lyric video as the main video cuz there's clear emotion and connection there, even with the "surprise" "reveal" that it's a lesbian couple.
