Mr. Duff's Most Wanted of 2012 | Top 10 Singles! :D
Top 10 Singles
10. Kelly Clarkson - What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)
Kelly Clarkson makes my top ten this year with the excellent title track of her latest LP (not counting her GH). I have heard of Stronger way back in 2011 when it leaked, and initially, I don't really like it. When it went #1 on the Hot 100, I still don't like it. It grew on me when it was constantly played by my brother who was really addicted to it. I prefer Mr. Know It All last year, and I still prefer it, although Stronger is really one of the standout tracks in Kelly's discography. Its message delivers inspiration and empowerment, which is an additional factor to listen to this song.
9. David Cook - The Last Song I'll Write For You
This may shock a lot of you as this never really dented any charts or had any popularity, but it's from David Cook, and he;s my favorite Idol. Hehe. And the song is very sincere and I can really feel the message of the song from the moment I heard it. I'm hoping that David Cook can gain his little share of popularity again because he's really damn good, and his voice is such a fresh breeze in my ears. This song made my top 10 because I just cannot resist it, ever since it went on iTunes, it's been on my playlist. I guess I'm really a huge David Cook fan.
8. Pink - Try
Pink surges to #8 in my top 10 with her endearing track, Try. The song at first listen is really boring, but I've learned to love it with the music video. The chorus really strikes me hard with all the connections in the lyrics, and Pink's voice really complemented the mood of the song. I hope it can go top 10 in the Hot 100 because it's so much better than Blow Me, which is a huge hit for her. Try is one of my favorite Pink songs ever, up there with ****in' Perfect and U + Ur Hand.
7. Maroon 5 - One More Night
When I bought the album, I was instantly hooked with this, being the first track on the album. It's so groovy yet very catchy as the lyrics are very easy to sing along. The reggae vibe really gets me and this is one of those M5 songs where Adam's voice shines so bright (like a diamond? HAHAHA!). I mean, at songs like Payphone, he sounds good but there are awkward parts of the song where Adam sounds screechy, but with One More Night, it's heaven. I'm glad it went #1 on the Hot 100 for a long time. I hope Daylight does the same, it'salso one of my favorites.
6. Adele - Set Fire To The Rain
Adele easily goestop 10 in my yearend with her, IMO, best song ever. Set Fire To The Rain was sung by Adele with those really enchanting emotions felt with her voice, and there's so much soul in this track that resembles a pop-ballad song. It just works like magic! I never really liked Adele before but this song made me love her. Rolling In The Deep and Someone Like You both charted so low in my yearend last year because I don't really like Adele, but I just cannot resist the palatable flavor Set Fire To The Rain has. It should've been in my top5, and I believe most of you will be pressed that one certain song in my top 5 is above this havenly track. :laughs:

Mr. Duff's Most Wanted of 2012 | Top 5 ALBUMS + SINGLES!
Top 5 ALBUMS!
5. Kris Allen - Thank You Camellia
The Season 8 AI champ snatches a top 5 in my albums list for2012 with his second CD. The album is filled with the original music that Allen has shown in AI, and has evolved his music into a whole new level. His debut was good but very safe, and this new one just ***** gems. I love the folky sound on most of the songs and how he showcases his vocals beautifully without screaming or belting. Take for example Better With You, my favorite on the album, which offers a catchy production with relatable lyrics. Out Alive is also a standout because of how it builds as a song, and the final chorus really tickles my mind off how the song manages to get me out alive. Ahahaha. Too bad this album flopped, Kris deserves so much more with this.
Top Tracks:Better With You, Loves Me Not, Out Alive, Monster, My Weakness
4. One Direction - Take Me Home
Up All Night barely made the top 15 on my list, probably because of how cheesy and safe the songs are in that album to get the name One Direction out there. By their second album, they have somehow experimented especially with the ballads, proving they are a group to stay relevant, and they succeeded. This CD offers their natural and formulaic pop boyband songs likeLive While We're Young and Kiss You, but it offers so much more substance in the form of Change My Mind, a beautiful ballad that sings to woman on a delicate decision, They Don't Know About Us and Over Again also broadcasts how they can be really heartfelt with their songs. Little Things is a stellar surprise, because of how acoustic it is yet it managed to get attention for 1D, and it's such a different and superb track from the boys and it deepened their serenity and seriousness as artists. I hope they can offer more albums like Take Me Home which surely is a strong and solid CD. WORTH BUYING!
Top Tracks:
Change My Mind, Over Again, Little Things, Last First Kiss, Summer Love
Top 5 SINGLES
5. Justin Bieber - As Long As You Love Me 9featuring Big Sean)
This will surely shock a lot of you for being higher than Set Fire To The Rain, Stronger or Try. Yep, I called it! When I first heard this track, I initially loved it. I never thought JB could bring up such an outstanding track and the lyrics are really superior. His vocals on the song are great as well. The only problem I have is the chorus. I have a love-hate situation with it. Ugh, I just hope he made it simple and not with the a-a-a-a-a-a-ove me. But there are days when I really love to sing it. The rap part of Big Sean is pretty special to me too, because I alsways wanted to hear that part of unknown reasons. I'm a big fan of Biebs and I'm proud for him for offering such a marvelous track. And I'm so happy it was a huge hit for him!
4. Carrie Underwood - Blown Away
I've always been a huge fan of Carrie and I've always prefer her to Kelly, but I never expected her to top Kelly's masterpieces WITH THIS SONG. Yes, in my opinion this is the best song from an Idol ever. I called it again! Ahahaha, the vocals, the music, the pop attributes, and the beautiful music video. It's just heaven! I know a lot of you will not agree with me, but my favorite Kelly song is Behind These Hazel Eyes and it didn't make me feel how I feel with Blown Away. I'm sure I will never get tired of playing this song and I hope Carrie delivers such epic tracks like this. I know it has pop influences but Carrie can do it just amazingly. I'm so pissed though that this got stuck at #11 on iTunes, it could have been a huge crossover hit.
