The TD era owned the BTW era so I don't see how she affected Katy.
Christina waited 40 years between albums, has a bad attitude and still doesn't have a strongly definable artistic image/identity so her flopping was all her own doing. Also NMT is horrible.
I don't know what you're trying to say but Madonna is unbothered by Gaga and will only meet media scorn (like with the hydrangeas) if she says something completely out of line, which she obviously won't because she's not crazy.

The Gaga stans wont stop hating Katy and Christina. There are a good portion of Gaga stans who won't buy ANY Christina and Katy material simply because they shaded Gaga. Doesn't matter from which era. Previous eras or future eras -- no matter how much they like the song or album. They don't want to support them. Don't pretend this isn't true.
I'm sure Katy would be doing slightly better if she never made that comment about the Alejandro video. There ARE Little Monsters who boycott Katy-related material and it's way more common then you'd think.
And I agree, but the thing Christina said about Gaga really pissed off Little Monsters. TONS of them completely boycotted her album.
I'm sure there are Gaga stans who won't buy Christina's album no matter how much they love it. The same with Katy Perry.
Madonna does NOT need that right now. She wants Gaga's stanbase on her good-side.

Didn't the Alejandro video come out before TD was even released? From what I can remember it was during the beginning of the era and she did fine afterwards.
X dissed Stefani on The Voice when someone sang BTW, and months later she got another classic #1.
