I'm sorry but I just don't understand this argument. Rihanna is a crossover artist. She is also urban. A lot more pop but she's definitely urban also, which if anything should give her an advantage since she attracts and gets support on both formats. Her last two #1's were Rude Boy and What's My Name both of which are blatantly R&B/reggae influenced songs and most of the push that allowed them to get so high came from the urban format.
And I do hope Chris Brown passes more than 180k although that's completely irrelevant. Like I said before for
him, rebounding off of being shunned by majority of the population and coming from not being able to even pay to have his songs played, selling numbers like that would be reason to celebrate. Not for Rihanna.
