I don't see how being at a bus/resturant is under school jurisdiction but not on the internet?...
I also didn't say anything about interacting with classmates on facebook. Harassing anybody can get you in trouble.
As long as he's a student he is associated with the school. What he did is public, and word got around, and put the schools reputation at risk. They had to do something.

A public high school has no right to suspend him due to his career choice that took place far away from the campus grounds. A private school would be able to do such (under various circumstances) but not a public school.

Well apparently that's not even the reason they gave for suspending him so we are kinda arguing an irrelevant point.
Disturbance is why they suspended him, but I don't quite understand how that makes sense.
