The Judas/TEOG isn't really comparable to this. Judas was dead in the US after like 3 weeks, it was doing well in Europe, but TEOG turned out to be a big hit, which would have been even bigger with a good video.

The BTW singles weren't too bad. In hindsight they weren't the best choices, but they didn't expect things to go like they did with the Judas fiasco.

With Applause, I think it was the best option for the lead (from what we've heard so far). Again in hindsight it didn't exactly do as well as we hoped but if you were given the album and asked to choose what would be the best lead single most of us would have probably chosen Applause as well.

Ugh. This really better not be true. That is the dumbest decision ever. Just because something is popular for 5 minutes on iTunes doesn't mean it'll do well as a single. Her team is consistently a mess. This makes me less excited for ARTPOP.
