You're ignoring the fact that The Fame, re-released and all, outsold Brit's 2008 album Circus. The original quote I was responding to was that Gaga WOULD NEVER outsell Brit, but she did with The Fame. That's it, nothing else to it

And how much did circus sell right before the re-release?
Not quite sure. It was at 1,604,648 as of the 09/26/09 chart, but wikipedia says it was at 1,670,000 as of February 2010. Considering holiday sales, I think it's safe to assume that it was below The Fame at the time.
