I apologize for the late update. I said I would update this morning, but I had some boyfriend issues; apparently cuddling is a bad thing to do in front of someone's parents so I came off as disrespectful and I left a bad impression. Needless to say I was very upset for a huge part of the day and I still feel a bit down because of it. But I need to take my mind off it. So here comes the update.
120. One Direction - Where Do Broken Hearts Go
When I first heard the title of this song, I thought they were covering Whitney's song . I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought that. Well anyways, this was the best promo song they released.
Final appearance of One Direction
119. The Vamps - Can We Dance
This song was a feel good song. I'm surprised it didn't break out into the US. I guess 5SOS won it. But that's fine, I like them more anyway. The Vamps need a REALLY good song before smashing
Second of three appearances by The Vamps
118. Zendaya - Replay
Another song that I thought would blow up in 2014. Unfortunately Hollywood took too long to promote it or discount it. Regardless, it seemed to do well in Australia surprisingly. This song charted higher this year than last year so that's good. It's a cute song but lacks replay value ironically enough.
Only appearance by Zendaya
117. Cher Lloyd - Bind Your Love
One of the best songs on Sorry I'm Late and one of the best promo songs. The guitar-riffed dance pop is infectious and the chorus is really catchy. It could have been a single if Epic treated her right.
Third of five appearances by Cher Lloyd
116. Charli XCX - Boom Clap
If someone were to preview this song on iTunes, the song comes off as basic. That's why I initially paid this song dust. It wasn't until November 1st, on the way home from that party, that I finally heard this song in full. The verses are dark and edgy. They carry the song to the light chorus. Still a little cheesy, but the song is a much a better song than I initially thought.
One of three appearances by Charli XCX
115. Shawn Mendes - Life of the Party
So apparently this guy is from Vine, a social media program I rarely use. I listened to his song earlier in the year and it was actually pretty nice. He gets a bit overrated by his stans though in the games section.
Only appearance by Shawn Mendes
114. Madison Beer - Unbreakable
Jessie Mulay got me into Madison Beer. I really got into Melodies. That song is a really addictive song. This song is a bit underwhelming however. It's not as good as Melodies, but I think Madison has potential to be the first 1999 baby to join my stan card in a few years. She reminds me of Megan Fox a bit as well. However I also heard she bullied someone to death. So maybe this song is hypocritical? I don't know. But I don't believe everything I hear. I mean, the magazines make up stories about Miley all the time and I don't believe any of it
Only appearance by Madison Beer
113. Hunter Hayes - Tattoo
Hunter is the only country boy I have a soft spot for. He's just gorgeous . This song is like I Want Crazy 2.0 in my honest opinion. I like it and it's catchy, but the similarities keep it from charting higher. P.S. I live for the fact Hunter fans finally got to see nipple/chest when he showed his Ellen tattoo
Final appearance of Hunter Hayes
112. Cher Lloyd - Sirens
A fan favorite among Cher Lloyd stans, but my second least favorite ballad off of Sorry I'm Late. Sweet Despair and Human were straight to the point while Sirens felt like it dragged on. In addition, the beginning riffs remind of Shouldn't Come Back by Demi Lovato. Both are songs that I listen to only one rare occasion. I have a better appreciation for Sirens now though because it is a quality song, it's just not a song that can get decent rotation on my iTunes or iPod like Human or Sweet Despair. Anyways, Cher Lloyd's best entry will be saved for the Top 100, so this will be her last appearance for awhile.
Fourth of five appearances by Cher Lloyd
111. Avril Lavigne - Hello Kitty
I'm surprised I'm placing Hello Kitty this high. Early in the year I planned on putting this in the 190s. Even on my notepad I'm surprised I placed it this high. I simply just put a rough draft of songs I will have in the list saved on the notepad for this site and I'll switch things around where I see put when the time comes. Hello Kitty is just a guilty pleasure and the song is kind of infectious. It's like that joke act on X Factor that we know won't win, but we enjoy their company until their inevitable elimination, or that super bad contestant on Weakest Link that keeps everyone entertained until either their inevitable elimination or loss in the final round. Hello Kitty was a song I'm sure most people knew would not be #1, but it's elimination was inevitable and it was going to come sooner or later. I decided it was time to place this song on an official marker and it bows out at #111.
