^ I agree with you, Loose is one of the best albums in 5 years. I'm Not Dead might also be one of the best too.
Nelly needs to end the Loose Era with Afraid, Wait For You or Glow.

Oh well.. ... "In God's hands" is about to chart in the U.K. It is already gaining some good scores in some of Eastern european countries, where it was chosen to be the 5th single. For example, it was released last week in Lithuania, and it entered directly to number 3 in the Lithuanian Singles Charts. It is rising in other european single charts while "Say it right" is getting out of the top 10... It's a slow process...
I truly believe that Nelly Furtado made the wrong choice to release "Te busque" as the 5th single in Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland. "In God's hands" would be an instant hit in these countries that have been supporting her career since her first album. Her second album "Folklore", the less sucessful album from Nelly worldwide, was 2xPlatinum and Platinum in these countries (being more sucessful that her first album "Whoa, Nelly!")... which reveals that central european people enjoy a lot more her "sensitive and soft" music style that her "promiscuous maneater style"... so "all good things" was the biggest single of the year in these countries and "in god's hands" would become another big hit.
However, "Te busque" was already number 4 in Netherlands and it is in the german top 20 (2 weeks after release). Let's wait for what's coming next... "Say it right" is still chartting in top 20 in all these countries since March.
In Sweden specifically (for blackbeatxxx), I don't know which single is being released... but I guess it is "In God's hands"... just as in the UK and in Portugal.
But... as this is the end of the road for "Loose", I guess in many countries all final singles are being played in the radios (and maybe all of them will be released)...in a attempt to make "Loose" reach another good-wave of sales... Aparently, it is being achieved! ; as the sales became bigger in Europe in these last mouth, making "Loose" to reach the number 1 in European Top Albums for more 2 weeks (9 weeks in total). Although "Te busque" was not the hit single that entered directly to top 10 in Germany, the fact is that "Loose" went back to top 3 albums there after these single started to get played in the german radios ( remember: the album is already 4xPlatinum there!! how hard is for a 4xPlatinum album to achieve these kind of run and compete with all the recent and summer albums...like Rihanna, Avril, Maroon 5, Linkin Park???... very hard!!).
And I can say the same for the UK Top Albums... ... Since "In God's hands" started to be played in the brittish radios, the album was back to the competitive top 10 albums there and now it is reeeeeeeeaaally closer to the 3xPlatinum mark.
In resume, I really believe that the success of the new releases from "Loose" are about to become visible in the album's sales and not in the top singles charts. yeah...people that is about to buy the album now are those resistent people that after all these hit singles, finally give some credit to Nelly Furtado and go buy the album. and the maiority of those who already have the album will not buy or download the new singles "In God's hands" or "Do it"! In some countries, "Do it", "In God's hands", "All good things" and "Say it right" are all being played at the same time. That's a briilliant way to put a end point to the success of these album that made History and broke records around the world.
Well done, Nelly! Forca, Nelly!

quite an essay you wrote there, portugese....well, in sweden, no new single is really released, say it right is doing so-so, it was never that high (no top 10 i think), but has longevity, and most importantly, the album still sells alot, top 15-20 like for ever....but honestly, as far as doin good on the charts, in god´s hands does nothing, i think she released b/c she likes the song, that´s one of the reasons i like her...after all, she´s not a fame***** or something...but she and timbo made maybe the best pop-album in 2006 together, and that is why it´s so successful ultimately
i just wanna say, i love "somebody to love", i want to be released with a video...do like beyonce if you want, lol

"Te Busqué" peaked at #4 on in the Netherlands. With no video. "Say It Right" isstill on the chart as well, this week's 20th week in the top 40, and in a battle for becoming the #1song of the year so far!'
"In God's Hands" will probably be the 6th single over here, since there doen't seem to be an end of the succes of Nelly, after 5 top 10 singles from an album that's still top 10 in the album chart!

I know... Actually, Sweden is one of the few european countries where Nelly didn't get a number 1 with the album or with a single... Oh well, I know "Loose" is Gold there...so, there's some success!!
I like "somebody to love" too... it has a portuguese-spanish latin vibe going around...

The Dutch fans have always been supporting Nelly Furtado career in Europe... just like the fans from Germany, Switzerland and Portugal...

but Loose itself has been very popular, it won several album and popalbum of the year polls...the biggest daily newspaper aftonbladet, called it the best popalbum of 2006 (with justin at #3 and christina #4, so they have good taste )....very few albums of a foreign artist sell platinum these days, or even gold...pink barely made it, and despite peaking at #2 and having longevity, back to basics hasn´t....rihanna peaked at #28 with GGGB, kelly clarkson just #38....fergie barely even charted at top 60, and beyonce peaked barely within top 20, and fell off shortly after...
justin, nelly, amy winehouse and mika are basically the ones that has done and stil doin really good!

Really??... I had no ideia it was like that there in Sweden!! Actually, in Portugal, something like that happens... Some years ago, portuguese top 20 albums was totally ocupied by foreign artists... but nowadays, it is mainly by local artists...
Some of them are good...but...
Actually, Nelly Furtado's "Loose" is the only on-english album in this week top 10 here... ... And Nelly Furtado is Portuguese... so, she doesn't count! lol
However, Rihanna and Beyonce made it to portuguese top 10 too some weeks ago... Fergie didn't make it...but Black Eyed Peas are huge here!
Kelly Clarkson was popular with "Breakaway" (Platinum) but no signs of "My december" in the charts so far!... ...
Mika is doing good too around here... No grades for Amy Drunk Winehouse around here...although the radios promote her like hell...
so, I guess Nelly Furtado did a great job there in Sweden!! COOL!!
thanks for the info, blackbeatxx!

You're kinda right... I think the video is the worst coming from Nelly Furtado... because it's too girly! But it wasn't an expensive video for sure!! and the intention is to give some credit and airplay to this song that could turn into one of the fresh sounds of this summer.
So... let's vote for the song!! (and the video is NOT that bad... .. I mean, Justin Timberlake's video for "Lovestoned" SUCKS SOOOOOOOO MUCH!! the only part that saves his new video is the end part where he looks like a mama's little boy... )

Hmm... in "all good things" video, we can see the intimacy between her and her "boyfriend" there... I think they both click in the video... It's well done... But I think Nelly's style in the video is not that good...she looks a lot hotter in "In God's hands" video...
By the way, I have soooooo many female friends asking me who is the model that plays Nelly's boyfriend in the "All good things" video.... Does anyone know who he is?
