She doesn't need to beg and write phony messages in order to get sales. A true star above the pleb
whew so much tea.
OT: she obvsly isn't into social media and she isn't into talking to strangers. To me, she never was much of an extrovert person. I think she isn't confortable with strangers and is socially awkward which is cute knowing how everybody envy her fierce stage persona
Isn't she nearly 40? I don't know many people other than your embarassing mom or grandma that are constantly posting on social media. Her brand/main focus is her music only.
Bey figured out what many popstars havent, including Taylor Swift: social media leaves little to no imagination when it comes to popstars, and it eventually ruins their image or taints their public perception. I still think it's what eventually came back to hurt Gaga.
I think social media should be used solely for promotion. Once you crack the 4th wall and people have either figured you out or start to humanize you, you pretty much lose your coolness. You become the "oh I've seen that from her already" type of popstars. That's why popstars of the 80s and 90s have a literal magic around their aura... there was nothing to really peak at outside of their interviews and tabloid stories, which were more or less never validated.
If I were an A&R, I'd carefully follow Beyoncé's formula when it comes to mystique, because it generates interest. This is coming from someone who doesn't necessarily care for or like Beyoncé. Someone must've told Rihanna the secret too, because she keeps her social media a lot more business forward than she used to.
Judging someone by their writing and reading skills doesn't make he better.
It's just arrogant and childish belittle her accomplishments because of her education.
Gaga was in the best school of NY, but see her career choices.
I don't really see his point tho.
I agree with you; but I wouldn't use Gaga as an example. She's still more successful in her feild than 99% of her peers within her age group in their respective industries.

Adele, Katy, Madonna.. Girl what is you talking about.

This is tea and I've said this before as well. I honestly think Bey's distance from social media is what separated her from the pack in the media in those years around 2010-2014 when celebs on various social media platforms was becoming the norm and the celeb climate shifted from fully speculative to fully interactive and that made the stars feel common.
People were getting too much unnecessary access and were seeing too much (I think this also applies to society in general in regards to how we perceive each other but that's for another discussion). Bey's abstaining from the overshare culture made her start to feel alien and "other" and she started getting treated differently according to that perception. Bey started to get singled out -- deified in a way and treated as this regal presence because she felt so different from other celebs. It was very interesting to watch that shift over the course of this decade.
