Anthony's Best Of 2007 - UPDATE: The end is closer: Singles 5-3!!
Singles 5-3 for this update, folks!! Thanks for the awesome latest comments, keep those coming, please!
05. Keane - A BAD DREAM
"I was fighting but I just feel too tired to be fighting
Guess I'm not the fighting kind
Wouldn't mind it if you were by my side
But you're long gone, yes you're long gone now"
First time I listened to this song was back in November 2006, during The O.C. 4th season premiere, in the very end of the episode. It was such an emotional and tense moment for the show, and the song just fit perfectly. Well, since I'm all 'dark and twisty' ( ), I couldn't help but falling in love with this song. After that, I started rooting for it to be a single from Keane's 'Under The Iron Sea' album, and that happened a couple of months later. Since then, 'A Bad Dream' has become my favourite Keane song, not to say one my favourite songs EVER.
04. Nelly Furtado - ALL GOOD THINGS (COME TO AN END)
Also charted last year at #6
"Travelling, I only stop at exits
Wondering if I'll stay young and restless
Living this way, I stress less
I want to pull away when the dream dies
The pain sets in and I don't cry
I only feel gravity and I wonder why"
The magnificence of 'Loose' 3rd worldwide single is almost indescribable. Add to that a beautiful video and bang!, you have a perfect single. And that's something only the US radio stations would dare not to recognize. Like I mentioned last year, 'AGT' would have been my 2006's #1 had it been released a month earlier. That said, it was expected it would be at least Top 5 in 2007, so here it is! Actually, I gotta say, this would be my #1 any time - but it didn't have that chance due to not charting only in one single year.
03. Snow Patrol - OPEN YOUR EYES
"Get up, get out, get away from these liars
'Cause they don't get your soul or your fire
Take my hand, knot your fingers through mine
And we'll walk from this dark room for the last time"
Here's another song I wanted to be a single since the first time I heard. 'Chasing Cars' is the song that made me a Snow Patrol huge fan, but this is the one that made me realize how brilliant their album 'Eyes Open' is - I mean, it wasn't just about three good singles, it had more. To be fair enough, that album is a piece of heaven - And 'Open Your Eyes' is the best song from this album; Deep lyrics + emotional beat + surprisingly good video also made it the best single. Yeah, I may regret my decision for not giving Snow Patrol a 2nd #1 in a row.
Well, I have to say, 2007's Top 3 was even harder to choose than last year's. So, make me proud, leave your nice comment now and come back later to check the Top 2 singles of the year in my humble opinion.

Awesome! Loved all of them.
Your number one is Gimme Moar, yes, you are THAT predictable.

09. Lifehouse - Who We Are
Favourite tracks: Whatever It Takes, First Time, Broken
Lifehouse is one of those bands you like some singles, end up overplaying these, but never really find the, let's say, time to appreciate the full work. For the first time I did that, I mean, listened to the whole album, and I was definitely not disappointed. Not to mention 'Whatever It Takes' is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
|
Disarray is the best song on the album, sad that you cannot appreciate it.

03. Maroon 5 - IT WON'T BE SOON BEFORE LONG
Favourite tracks: Nothing Lasts Forever, Goodnight Goodnight, Makes Me Wonder
"This is better than 'Songs About Jane'!; Hell no, it's no way as good as 'Songs About Jane'!". I'm still trying to figure that out, but all I know is Maroon 5 delivered a brilliant sophomore album, and that's more than enough.
|
WRONG! Bitch please, don't lie to us. This album is actually as good as Songs About Jane, and Little of Your Time - AKA the best song on the album - is not in your top 3 tracks. Well, that explains everything.

1. Glad you liked all of them.
2. Not commenting on that.
3. LMFAO, just because it isn't on my Top3 doesn't mean I dislike it - Actually, 'Disarray' is my FOURTH favourite song on WWA.
4. OMG, did Alex steal your account? I mean, you have been such a BITCH lately. I like SAJ and IWBSBL equally. Like I said, I can't choose which one is my favourite. And HELL NO, 'Little Of Your Time' is great, but is far from being the best song on the album.

If Anthony wants GM #1 or #2, it's up to him. Besides, this is his chart.
Keane #5? I just noticed it now. Surprised this is on so high.

Thanks, Mike. And I liked Keane since they released 'Everybody's Changing'... Although 'A Bad Dream' is the song that made me a fan of their work.
