Time to see my top 10!
Katy Perry - Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)
THE.PERFECT.PARTY.JAM. I love this song so much. It has that laidback feel to it, but it's also a kick-ass song to just dance to. While I feel like this was Katy doing Ke$ha, I think it fits her well, and she should do more songs like this in the future.
B.o.B - Airplanes (feat. Hayley Williams) & Rihanna - Only Girl (In the World)
You that one song that makes you want to harm small animals whenever it comes on because it's so overplayed? Yup, that's Airplanes. It was amazing, still is, but I could only take so many shooting stars before it became an apocalypse for me. But I do praise the chorus, production, and vocals from both. As for Only Girl, this song was a major grower. I was extremely disappointed the first time around, but I LOVE it now. Kudos to Rihanna for doing something different, and showing her amazing voice.
Lady GaGa - Telephone (feat. Beyonce)
Can I just say how the video made this song? Okay, besides that, it has a killer beat, and GaGa + Beyonce works great together. Glad this was released this year.
Katy Perry - E.T.
I've loved this ever since the demo version leaked, way back in May. It has a very futuristic and techno beat, but when the chorus explodes.... I hope this is the next single, it'll show a different side of Katy nobody has seen.
Shontelle - Impossible
I found out about this song way back in February, when it was a massive flop. Luckily for Shontelle, it became a huge hit and she finally got her album out. The song is touching, and I can feel the emotion in her voice when she sings. Good job. |
TOMORROW IS THE DAY.
