I'm trying to build a deck but I'm just using the cards I know from the anime
There are so many cards idek.
I tried dueling using the decks they had and I was confused and it was all going so fast
Can someone explain the phases for me and what they mean??
Standby phase allows you to use any effects that require this turn to activate them. You can also play quick-play Spell cards and Traps cards.
Main Phase 1 basically allows you to normal/special summon a monster from your hand, as well as activating/setting down any Trap Spell cards that you have in your hand - same rules apply to Main Phase 2, as well (as long as you haven't set a Monster down in MP1.)

One is before the Battle and the other after the battle. Believe me, things change a lot during the Battle phase, so you might need to set more cards than you thought.
