Sorry guys. I'm gonna have to take an brief intermission. Business I have to take care of. But I will reveal #22 and #21 tonight, so stay tune. Don't go anywhere.
23. Get It Off (ft. Dirtbag & Missy Elliott)
After the Storm
Served as a double sided single with Knock Knock, this JAM is the album opener of After the Storm. The spanish flavor Missy Elliott and the hard rap of Dirtbag makes you want to get energized with your neck, your back, and your thighs. In my opinion, this should have been the lead single, even though I love So Gone. KAK and I have a common liking to this JAM (for once)
Baby let me set it off, do you mind if I get it off
22. Anything (To Find You) (ft. Rick Ross & Lil' Kim)
New Life
Really Monica Really? After the major success of Still Standing, you decide to come back with this?! I don't get why people are so into it. Sampled from "You're All I Need to Get By", Monica joined forces with Rick Ross (yeah, that'll give you a hit) and Lil Kim'. The full song was leaked before the official release, but later, Kim's verse was scrapped out for the final version. Mess.
Anything became her first lead single not to chart on the Hot 100, and because it was a disaster, it got scrapped from the original album to the deluxe. How sad. I bet this is the only song that Kool_Aid_King likes more than me.
Like sweet morning due, this samples overused, and it was plain to see, this song would not succeed
There was a lot of debating on whether to make this song as a single from the label. To me, it's on of the highlights on the album, and one that showcased Monica's vocals.
Awww, I loved Anything (To Find You) back then. It knocks. Even Rick Ross nailed it tbh. And I was bopping to it all summer. It really deserved top 20 over some of the songs left, but #22 isn't that bad
