Girl, TLOU has been a silent slayer. Promo, media coverage? I haven't seen a TLOU commercial since September of 2013. October, at best.
It was already hyped from the get go, and it's carried out throughout the year. Everyone knew it was gonna slay award season. I even got an opportunity to ask three key members of the dev team if they were excited to be pitted against GTA V for a majority of the GOTY awards. I bet they didn't expect this
Oh, and key advice: it's not wise to compare a new IP to a) an established franchise i.e. any Mario title because it has an advantage of oh say, 20 YEARS of recognition. And b) to a game in which it's collective sales come from multiple ******** money grabs Capcom has the nerve to call "editions".
Y'all always wanna throw out the Mario series and it's sales when talking about others, I wonder how y'all Nintendo stans cope with the success of GTA. Always skimmed over until they decided to throw y'all a bone with Chinatown Wars just for the money
I think GOTY did NOT go as most people expected.
