Donna >>> Rose >>> Amy >>> Clara >>> Martha (she was poorly written)
Wow at Donna ranking high in here.
The fact that she completely changed so much just to be erased in memory and went back to square one is heartbreaking.
Can I just say, one thing that's REALLLLLLLLY annoyed me about Moffat's era (although it started at the end of the RTD era with Donna's series) is how there can be a 3 month gap inbetween visits from the Doctor.
The companions are supposed to be traveling WITH the Doctor. It annoys me how the writing doesn't link up.
For example, Clara could travel with the Doctor, and then they tell us it's been a month for Clara. But the writing doesn't match up because Clara hasn't progressed with her relationship with Danny and she talks to the Doctor like it's been a few hours.
Same with Amy & Rory. They traveled with the Doctor over a 10 year span. Apparently. Yet the character development and writing make it seem like it's been a year at least. Especially when Amy would jump in the Tardis like it's been 2 minutes since he left when it would actually be 8 months.
I don't know. It just irks me. I feel like the only reason why Russell started the trend and Moffat kept it going was to explain the Doctors age rate and how he ages so much per season (he was 903 in the last classic series) and now he's older than 1000 years.
I just want a companion to travel WITH him again, not go on field trips.
I thought it was great, nothing special (all of series 8 is better), but definitely not the worst episode ever and not the worst Christmas special either.
I wonder when 'The Magician's Apprentice' is coming? I say it's a 10th anniversary New Who special at Easter tbh.
I loved this, one of the better Christmas episodes and it wasn't hard to follow at all! Glad that Clara is staying, they really seemed to be giving Shona a lot of time so I wonder if she'll be joining the TARDIS crew soon? Would love it she was really fun!
