I do think they should somewhat play it safe with the lead single, and save the risky ones for later.
Their idea of two heavy hitter performers collaborating on a song sounds nice, maybe she can try another song with Chris Brown and make a video for it. Their BET performance was too good.
Working with Trey Songz sounds cool, maybe she can give us a song like "Love Faces" or "Can't Be Friends", but IDK.

but IMO it's not really what Ciara is doing, it's also her TEAM that needs to step it up. With the new label and management, we'll see how it goes this time.
