It makes me so frustrated when friends or family are like "oh yeah! Love them!" ...then when something doesn't sell so much or doesn't get promoted enough, everybody just moves along and its like "Oh they must be over now because radio and TV tells me I should be listening to this or that. That's funny you still like them so much."
I don't know. I just get committed and it takes a lot to bore me or shake me off once I'm on. And I agree that ND is one of the most hard-working and dedicated bands out there once theyve got the mojo going.
Not to mention how totally stunted and thrown they were after the Looking Hot video controversy. They pretty much killed the project right then and there. So sad.
Look at us writing sad fan essays. Gwen would think we were so cute right now.

Oh my god are you kidding? Gwen wouldn't even want to think or talk about P&S right now. Like you said, that ridiculous controversy (which I somewhat agreed with) should not have ended the era right then and there like it had. Maybe there was no budget left after that? I highly doubt that, though. From what I remember, it wasn't even that major of a controversy, but after they performed the song live it didn't do any better. The title track really should've been pushed harder to radio.
I totally agree with you on the whole media brainwashing idea. People telling you it's cute you're still into them in a kind of belittling way when they have been hypnotized into liking whatever is hot at the moment and showing no brand loyalty to anything they once cared for. Talking about all of this just gets upsetting.
I do think No Doubt from this point on will see more success by immediately following a Gwen project with a project of their own. Doing ND first didn't work. The Settle Down performance at the Teen Choice Awards in 2012 panned to young kids in the audience that were confused why they were performing, and then you had all the ignorant live tweets. When you reverse it, though, ND makes more sense commercially when Gwen is already in the spotlight, and she has made statements she can do both. I would hope for a ND album in 2017 to follow up on the success Gwen will have this year, and with everything that went on behind the scenes, this will be a successful campaign for her. ND will be fine in the long run. They'll get a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction down the line.
