– Carly Rae Jepsen

The fairytale romance that Carly is clearly inspired by, or at least her voice and music creates contemporary ideas of it, shines brightly through in this upbeat, positive love song about wanting to run away with the person you love, and live in your own paradise, rather it be physical, mental or spiritual, Carly wants to go there!

It's really just a great catchy song, with a somewhat experimental horn sounding thing blasting as the musical hook.

I feel sorry for people who aren't regular Sunday morning attendees at the Church of Carly, cause they're missing out!

7. Cool for the Summer
– Demi Lovato

Never would I ever have thought Demi would make it onto a top 50, let alone top 10, list of my fave songs of the year - but from first listen to this SMASH bop I knew I was a little lovatic through and through! (not really, after "Confident" come along I checked out)

"Cool for the Summer" is such an outlandishly strong single from previously boring Demi, and finally she SERVED the sex and smash EDM bop that the world wanted, and when they wanted it. It was a genius reinvention, and she really is a great down-to-earth girl with a great voice, so it's nice to see her putting her money where her mouth is. That being said, bitch voted off my fave Jamie Pineda from X Factor so she's still unforgiven for that. (Jamie has a way better voice than you too hihi)

Legend Demi made me cool for the summer! A phrase I use way too often now.

It's a pretty iconic 1-2 punch, can't lie. I'm slain just listening to them (I always listen to the songs as I write about them to make sure I remember the feeling the songs make me feel).

I was just eating nutella on toast, so good. Dunno about butter though... hmm...

And glad you enjoyed my "Devil Pray" insights, I don't know what it is about that song but it feels quite deep and quite dark and makes me feel a little uneasy. Like I'm not too sure how I feel as a raised-but-fallen Catholic, and I guess good ol' Madge has a similar feeling when she might feel some sort of relationship with God but not in a Christian context.
