Ke$ha returns to claim the top spot! Rihanna's 'Diamonds' has only reigned the countdown for just two weeks.
this week One Direction clocks in their second song in the top 3 and Ed Sheeran and Flo Rida rise higher, Sheeran peaking at #7 and Flo getting his fourth top ten. Flo's recent success with top tens has been very good though, the past two has both peaked in the top 3 which might bode well for 'I Cry'.
we also welcome 'Va Va Voom', 'Beauty and a Beat' and 'Carry On' to the countdown!
also let me add this, i don't think i ever mentioned the basic system i use to determine how the songs are positioned, i just implied them.
i'll update the OP as such, but i'll state these to you right now so you know:
1) Playlist Weekly - I first take the positions i've created based on how well a song's performance was on the playlist i've created for the chart tracking on my iPod.
2) Radio Weekly - i then add in radio points of how many times i listened to certain songs via FM radio station and my Internet radio(s).
3) Favor Factor - i then give a bit of an extra boost if i like a certain song for that week just a bit more than the position it's given.
4) Surrounding Performance - i also must consider the performance of the other songs around a specific song that's performing well. for example say in last week a couple songs were in a high position but beginning to fail but were above a successful song in a lower position. now in this new week the failing of the couple songs fall short because their performance was very poor, and the song that was once successful is now losing favoritism and Playlist points, yet it still did better than the failing songs. compared to how the performance of the two songs did versus where they were the last week, i have no choice but to raise the new song a couple more notches up to beat the others. that might be a vague description, but my only one.
