Well there are those Grammys awards and she might not be finished collecting them. Not to mention she is the youngest ever to win the AOTY award, so at each Grammy award show she will be remembered.
Perhaps Lorde can get AOTY in 2015 or 2016, but it's a long shot. Most likely Taylor holds that title for another 20 years.
Not only that, Taylor made a genre change with Red (and arguably her previous album) moving from country to country influenced pop, with a number of singles that were pure pop. I expect she might reinvent herself again before she retires. She is still very young compared to most of the other names on the list.
So we have sales, awards and ability to reinvent and succeed in a different genre.
Katy is the one most likely be remembered as a successful pop singer, rather than a legend.
