True and the tour did really well despite the album sales not being like her previous efforts. Even when Hilary flops she still brings in money. I recall her being on the Forbes list in 2007 bringing in $12M, so her bank account is not hurting at all but still she needs to start making music again because Dignity really changed a lot of people's views on Hilary.

You have to keep in mind that Disney company and their primary tween fanbase are fickle. They aren't going to keep the same face for too long before they move on to the new hot thing. Hilary Duff was the face of Disney "back in the day", but she got older and so did her fans. Disney moved on and so did a lot of the fans. Maybe if Hilary were signed to a label other than Hollywood, she might have a chance, but I doubt it.

A lot of Disney fans are still all over Hilary but Dignity kind of alienated most share of her fanbase. Only the core that stayed with her which is still considerably large during Dignity.

I don't know why people act like a million is nothing. That's over $10 million in sales. A TRUE flop would be Brooke Hogan or Heidi Montag, but that's a whole different topic.

I sincerely hope Hilary comes out with a new album soon, I constantly have her music on repeat.

I like Hilary during the Dignity era, she became alot more adult in my eyes...shame the singles didnt do good, i think Dignity was a bit ahead of its time because i could see her doing much better now than in 2007

Wow. I never thought Hilary was well-received in ATRL. I agree with most of the comments here, Hilary can still come back but I don't think she wants to. Shame she has big potential.

At least she's doing something, she has movies (indie though), her book and her fashion thingy. She knows her act well. I do hope she bumps her one time (but not that hard) and realizes she wants to do music again.

Well, Hilary told a fan at the book tour for "Elixir" to give her one year to do music again. She also stated that she felt really inspired by the fans because almost everyone asked her about music during the tour, so that probably raised her spirit a little bit. I thought I was going to have to drag hoes for bashing Hilary when I saw her name on this thread but everyone is keeping it so positive and it makes me happy.

Sidenote: I have been saying this for awhile and Hilary kind of alluded to it BUT I doubt she has anything to write about for this album. When Dignity was released she had so many personal things going on that the album kind of wrote itself. (I know she doesn't write her songs by herself but she does a large chunk of the writing with Kara and other producers) I don't see Hilary falling back on doing an album full of love songs about Mike, so I hope she takes her time and puts out something next year.

Hilary has a lot left in her.

She is one of the few child stars that made the transition to young adult smoothly and without any scandals. She is always classy and always gracious towards her fans. I'd say she has a good few albums to come and if she wants to take her time and progress as a musician before she comes back, more power to her. She hasn't dissapointed us before and she won't in the future.

I love Miley and Hilary but they are in no way alike.

Miley is the new Miley, you can't ever replace an artist, and to be honest whenever someone calls an artist 'the next...' it is just annoying, you can compare any two artists, there will always be SOME similarities but every artist is also different in their own way, different music, style and personalities, so you can never truly say that any one artist replaces another.

Hilary built Disney Channel. Hilary is the reason why Miley, Demi, The Jonas Brothers, etc are here.
