Beyonce and Drake collabs can’t be cheap. Ariana is the new It Girl so that too. CB and Wayne also must cost a decent amount. Dr Luke, Cirkut, Esther Dean, Hit-Boy, Alex da Kid, Mike Will Made It, Katy Perry? All the big promo spots? It’s expensive on all fronts: collabs, songwriters, producers and promotion.
It may not even break even b/c Rihanna’s expensive albums sell 3-4M + a massive # of singles WW.
