You are friends with who you are friends with. It doesn't matter about the age. For most people it is more common to hang around with people your age or similar, but it is different for celebs.
Taylor was famous since she was 16 and interacting with people much older as part of her music career. She was hanging out with record execs, songwriters, musicians who were all much older than her. She knows that just cos you are young, you should not be dismissed or patronised but treated as an individual. Nathan Chapman and Liz Rose accepted her and worked with her even though she was 15 or so. Taylor has been employing people much older than herself for years, so she is used to being around people of different ages. Taylor is friends with older actresses like Lena Dunham and Gwyneth Paltrow. She is becoming a friend to Julia Roberts and Carly Simon. Reese Wetherspoon is her friend too. JT is probably a friend now, so she has friends over a wide age spread. Jennifer Lawrence is the same age as Taylor and is her friend, Ed Sheeran is similar age to Taylor.
Taylor is also a great example of someone who can grow up gracefully in the spotlight. I am sure the management and families of Lorde and Hailee, Odeya etc are very supportive of them getting advise from Taylor about this. Who else is a better mentor figure for making the transition from young adult star into full adulthood without having a meltdown?
Taylor has a very busy schedule with lots of travel. Her actress friends like Emma Stone and Dianne are also likely to he travelling to various film sets, so it is harder for them to find time to fit their schedules together. Taylor works harder than virtually any other celebrity, her schedule is usually crazy.
