I doubt a lot of the interviewers actually remember who the Xfactor judges were the year Fifth Harmony was on. Simon and Demi are really the only two that got attention for it, and yet how often they have to remind the interviewers that they already knew Demi from Xfactor and didn't only just meet her when they went on tour with her.
Anyone who does recall Britney will recall Britney's face and are probably like, she really wasn't a fan of them, and it'd just be uncomfortable to bring her up. I feel like honestly they barely see Simon in comparison to Demi and LA but they get asked about Simon so much they try and keep it positive when they talk about him.
I think LA has done the most for them business-wise and Demi has done the most for them regarding promotion. Like for the BOSS video release, note, @FifthHarmony tweeted it was out a couple times and got between 3,000 and 6,000 tweets and retweets about it each time. Demi's tweet about it has 20,000 retweets and 25,000 favorites. Simon has 10 million followers and while he mentioned it was out, never linked to it on itunes or youtube.
