I'm glad Janet is making everyone wait for her return, she hasn't been this smart since the AFY era. She's building anticipation, making everyone regret having blacklisted her during DJ, 20, and Discipline. I think this new project is gonna hit hard. No false promises, talks about "fun/light" nonsense, no Jermaine talking about Janet going "straight Control" etc. She's gonna let the music speak for itself like she did with Control, RN1814, janet, TVR...hell, even the AFY album was her divorce comeback album.
Us Janet Stans are very patient, we can wait a few more years. I don't expect anything new until 2016. I've got eight great albums to hold me over until the Queen returns with the ninth scripture.

Janet deserves to come back and smash! She won't but she deserves it! She can probably have a hot album in the R&B circuit

Janet Jackson, who skipped her late brother Michael’s hologram performance at the Billboard Music Awards, was spotted house-hunting in New York.
The half-dozen Grammy Award-winner and her hubby, Wissam Al Mana, recently checked out a $13.995 million four-bedroom, 3˝-bathroom penthouse at 40 Mercer St., the building that was a collaboration between hotelier André Balazs and Jean Nouvel.
The condo includes a 1,500-square-foot landscaped terrace — with its own private pool — and a 3,000-square-foot interior that is wired for sound and comes with a chef’s kitchen.
Douglas Elliman brokers Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes declined to comment.
I want Janet to make her critical acclaim comeback. F*ck commercial success.
We need another opus. Been TOO long since Velvet Rope.
All these 40+ pop divas trying their hardest to keep with the times and look sexy and relevant. I want Janet to aim for quality instead of chart hits. It's time Janet just goes back to doing what she does best-concept albums. I mean I want her to tell a story in her albums again. F*ck the orgasmic interludes and abundance of babymaking sex jams. We've had enough of that. I want her to make a very inspired body of work.
For instance, she's been out of the country for years. Why not incorporate world music? Bhangra, Middle Eastern rhythms, Latin jazz, or Afrobeat, in her songs? How about a theme of a dance album with each song being a different genre/international style of dance- bellydance, hip hop, jazz, electropop, dancehall, salsa, etc? I think that'd be great.
And, the key to success besides that, is STELLAR music videos more than anything else imo. This is where her elaborate dancing comes in. The music video can do alot to propel her back in the public consciousness and introduce her to a new generation of listeners.
People are not into dancing like they were more than a decade ago. Janet's dancing won't help.
She has to come up with something interesting and of quality. She has to focus on her voice and on her theatrics. Also, her image matters, she has to return with something light and colorful like she did on All For You/Call On Me. No more dark or B&W imagery.

Dancing is her trademark. People are still into it, it's just the newer girls can't dance so they don't know what they're missing. You'd have to be the only stan who doesn't want it. But more theatrics are needed again also. Something like the AFY era would be great.

Agree with all this but she can still have commercial success if she wants it and promotes. I still want something contemporary with some newer producers on board, maybe a few collaborations. It definitely needs to be really innovative and dance orientated. The music videos need to be stepped up again, something that shows the newer generation how legendary she is.

Ciara can dance better than Janet is physically able to at her age. Number of people that care about it : ______ (fill the blank)
I can mention other famous people that can dance and don't resort to it prominently, just because that's something uninteresting lately. It's time to realize we're not in 2001 and MOVE ON. It's not that I don't enjoy Janet's elaborate dancing or don't want it, it's simply not a smart thing to focus on.

That's because Ciara's basic and a non-factor. Not a good comparison. She can't just come back and walk around the stage, that's not her style. The newer girls standing there without doing much doesn't make it uninteresting, it just shows their lack of stage presence. Bey, J.Lo, JT and a lot of foreign acts still dance, now the queen needs to come back and school them all again. But yea theatrics need to be stepped up also.
