The highest ranking band in my list is Irish band The Script with their single Nothing. I have to admit, I wasn’t into their music on their first album but with the support of the radio having their songs played frequently, I found myself loving to their music finally. The Script released beautiful tunes like Science & Faith and If You Ever Come Back last year, but the best of them would have to be the heartbreaking Nothing. Lead singer Danny O'Donoghue nailed the lyrics and emotions all throughout the song. The heartbreaking track is about the end of a relationship where the guy is left broken hearted and obviously desires to continue the relationship. His mates take him out for a night on the town, presumably of heavy drinking to help him get over her, but this doesn't help. Even though his friends say he is better off without her, he still wants her to take him back. If you are in the same situation, you’ll probably feel this song so much straight from the heart. Nothing is one of the popular tunes here as this was clearly a radio friendly track to all. I never had been such a fan of their music up until Nothing came out. And now, it also got my interest to listen to their earlier stuff. I expect more from this band in the future, if they can provide me with another classic tune, I will definitely be listening to them without hesitation.

She’s been a reminiscing grandma on The One That Got Away, a 13-year old nerd on Last Friday Night and an alien princess drifting in the air on E.T., and now Katy Perry is here once again with her best song to date. Firework may have charted on my 2010 list but its success was still recognized up to last year. This is such a big hit and that’s enough reason for me to rank it as high as #3 in my list. You all know how successful this song is worldwide and the message it brought us which gave us inspiration when we heard this. It even earned Katy some awards just like the Video Of The Year at the VMA’s. Firework is definitely the signature song of Katy Perry in her career. It has become a household name song; almost everyone knew its lyrics from the beginning till the end. I have listened to this song about a hundred times already but still I never got tired of it. The music video is one of the unique videos I’ve seen recently as Katy sings with a live pyro and being a human firework. Like what I stated on the previous updates, Katy definitely had an amazing year thanks to her Teenage Dream which probably is one of the best albums released for the new decade. She is one of the acts that I will be supporting for the years to come. She truly deserved the success she is attaining and I can’t wait for what’s next.
