I would say religion is changing and becoming more up to date, much like all other groups of people. I have had many experiences in my 25 years on this planet with Muslims. Most of them were aware of sexuality and did not judge me for it, as I did not judge them for their religion.
However, in one case regarding a gentleman who was a traditional Muslim, he did not understand it as much.
Edit: Traditional Muslim is referring to his age - he's middle aged, and hasn't been in the UK for very long.
