The professor in my Japanese History class singled me and the other black kid out in class today to prove his point that you need to write historical accounts from your point of view. So his example was because "we're African American our experiences of growing up in our city would be different than a white student."
I'm like, first how do you know I'm even African American I could be Haitian or something, and two does this really matter?
