I cannot think of anyone more suited to singing Il vento than Tiziano, if someone else had have sang it and had written it, it would have put me off completely. I actually hate when artists don't write their own songs, Tiziano has written almost all of his songs by himself, is this selfish or ignorant of me to think like this? It's more personal when artists write their own songs as it's from their hearts and their experiences.

I can't really "connect" to an artist that doesn't write their own songs, but I can enjoy the music just the same. Artists that rely on others to write their music tend to be more inconsistent though, I think that's why almost all of my favorite artists are also writers.

I think most of the artists that I listen to, have written their own songs or co-written them, I don't really know if I could listen to a full album not written by an artist or even partly written. For me I just think it's a poor excuse not to be able to write your own song or songs, is that not what an artist is, someone who writes and performs their own songs?

I don't think so, there so many amazing singers who can't write good songs, and so many good songwriters who can't sing... in the end the number of people who were involved in the creative process doesn't matter to me, it doesn't affect the quality of the music. Some of my favorite albums were completely manufactured by a team, with little input from the singer.

It makes sense when you put it like that, maybe I'm overthinking it.

Yeah I saw it earlier this week. Mengoni had more votes than the others combined. He is from a talent show so he has a very fervent fan base. I don't mind, I really like his new song.
I think I will add Zurich to my itinerary. Fly to Zurich on the 5th, concert, take train to Geneva on the 6th, concert, fly home on the 7th. Sounds more fun than just going to Geneva.

But surely he doesn't have as many fans as Tiziano has? Tiziano has a far larger fan base than Marco, doesn't he?
You are so lucky to be going to 2 Tiziano concerts, what I wouldn't give to see Tiziano live, it's far too expensive for me though as I'd have to book flights out of a different country to my own and take a bus to the airport, it's only a two hour journey to the airport but still, the whole trip would cost £267.06 which includes, tickets to his concert at Forest National Arena in Brussels, hotel room for two nights, flights (the only thing it doesn't include is transport to the airport/hotel/concert and back.) Believe me, if I had £300 in my bank account at the minute, this would be getting booked ASAP.

I don't think Tiziano really has a larger "fan base", it's just that everyone likes him, but most of his public wouldn't bother to go and vote for an MTv award thing unlike Marco's

Yeah and Tiziano's fans are a little older, voting for awards is more of a teen thing.
But there's no doubt that Marco is becoming one of the biggest artists in Italy. The new album will have Christmas sales so I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up selling more than the last.

This shouldn't have made it in, he's out of sync and doing it wrong
The editing of the video in general is sooo poor. Gaetano Morbioli

I've been thinking about the lyrics of Ti voglio bene and Tiziano's ex-friend who he is singing about must've have really hurt Tiziano really badly in a emotional way, I know that he shunned Tiziano after he became famous although the lyrics are cruel, but knowing Tiziano he did the right thing singing them. I definitely wouldn't want this song sung to my worst enemy, Tiziano was right to write this song.

The mission is to convince my record company to "dirty up” my image a bit. If it were up to me, I would soil it immediately without any hesitation!!! Ahahahah!

Kworb, when Tiziano said this, did he mean he was looking to tarnish his image if it were up to him?
What does 4/4 time mean, and it is true to say that "How many princesses have you hidden in the castle from me?" means How many secrets have you kept from me?

Il vento is amazing. The video isn't my favorite, it's nice to see him doing something other than stand by a green screen and have shots of random people but that dancing was awkward haha. The video didn't have much to do with the song in my opinion. But it was nice seeing him act more youthful, but some of the moves were just bad. I am glad he released it as a single though, that and Sulla Mia pelle and Cambio were my favorite on his greatest hits. Maybe he didn't choose these as they are covers. Anyway, I hope his showcase is available to watch online. I wasn't able to watch it in the US

Cambio casa is Tiziano's own song, he wrote it and give it to Alice who recorded it for her own album Samsara, so he could have released it had he had wanted to.

He said it after Sere nere and Non me lo so spiegare, so he had become this innocent balladeer. He just wanted to be a little more edgy.
4/4 is a time signature: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_signature
And it could mean that yes, there's no right or wrong way to interpret his songs.

I think he had to choose a song from the second disc cause else the standard edition of TZN would've become more useless. He probably would've liked to release Cambio Casa, at the showcase he mentioned again how he sometimes gives songs to other artists and he can't stand when they're not considered as singles and nobody ends up hearing them.
I haven't found good video recordings of the showcase. Unfortunately they only put the audio on their site. http://www.rsi.ch/rete-uno/speciali/...o-6173200.html

Is Mio Fratello about Tiziano singing to his popstar self and his normal self?

Could be, yeah. Or Tiziano singing to himself through the eyes of his brother.

All booked and ready to go. Won't be much time to do anything else in Switzerland but that's okay.
