I won't say it's terrible. She has the right plans and deals, but the problem is how it's being executed.

Why would they tease us about "the album is coming soon" if they are not going to say anything? Why would she become super active on social media if she is not planning on releasing a single? What is the HBO supposed to promote? So she is just going to let the GQ's cover and SB's hype pass by without capitalizing on it? I'm baffled!

That's what talking about on how it's executed is terrible. Every thing is set up right with these HUGE promo spots, but she just let them slip on by.

Like I said on The Beyhive, this entire situation makes little sense.
I think this is more jarring than the treatment of 4.

This has 'Watch the Throne' promotion written all over it.
Beyonce KNOWS that us fans will make the album #1.
She's getting comfortable around that idea.
She knows that it's true.
But with all that, she's being disrespectful to her fanbase.
What I'm basically saying is; If the album leaks, I wouldn't be mad, and I'd say she deserves it.

Everyone shutup. She has MILLIONS behind her project this time. I trust them this time. Once the single drop, people won't be complaining. You guys are just being impatient. Chill!!!

I mean she STILL has Vogue, HBO documentary, Grammy's, H&M, Pepsi cans and display ALL through Walmart, and probably several other marketing plans we know NOTHING about.
I think we are just spoiled because the Beyonce hype has been MASSIVE from the GQ cover to the inauguration to the Superbowl. Now, the hype has died down some, and we want it back. But, it WILL come back.
Chill.

Like what kind of people does she having her advising her marketing? This is really weird...

You guys are really overreacting. Not every artist who does the Super Bowl needs to release new music. Most people don't. She used this opportunity to show how legendary she is. The moment was not hers to peddle her music on people. It was to entertain the audience during halftime. And that's what she did. She stayed classy by putting on a good show, not turning the halftime show into another advertisement.
Beyonce wants to do it her way. Didn't you hear what she was saying in the HBO special. She is a pop star, but she's making her own lane. Isn't the music and everything else more important than what marketing missteps she's making? She made $40 million on her down year. I'm sure she's not worried about how she needs to maximize her marketing.
I know it's hard on ATRL to wrap your head around someone not going all out to get a number one with features and discounts and remixes and perfectly timed release dates and whatnot. That's great that the artist has the number one song in the country, but is it number one because of how good it is or because of how good the company that made it got everyone to buy it?
I'm here for Beyonce's music, singing, dancing, touring, making videos, acting, doing award shows, etc. Anything after that is just an added benefit. I want her to have great marketing but we know nothing about what she's planned so let's just not freak out like there's nothing left to do.

She always had million behind each of her albums every artist does. We're just saying what she's been doing doesn't make any sense. 1st single out 2 months b4 the tour album out weeks b4 tour. Perform infront of 100+ million viewers not doing ur new single or say anything about new music after the performance, not performing at any upcoming big music events to promote new music none of this and ur tour starts in 2 months. It doesn't make sense, who the hell does this? It's not smart at all.

You know how I coped with no single at the SB? I convinced myself the single was a ballad so she couldn't perform it there which is why she will definitely perform at the Brit's awards. I was so sure.
I need another fantasy to make it through.

So y'all wanted her to premiere the single at "Super Bowl" and let it have ALL this initial hype, and then fade away?
What if the single is experimental and doesn't hit. All that hype would have been for nothing. She is obviously going for longevity!
Secondly, secondly, secondly!! People tour with their singles just coming out ALL the time! That is how Lil Wayne's "Carter IV" sold almost a million it's first week. He was TOURING while the album was out, so there is so much press in each INDIVIDUAL market about the tour on radio, posters, etc, that it actually HELPED the album/single.

I mean she performs End of time over her new single?!?! Who the hell knows end of time outside of the fan world?!?! Either way it would have been a song the GP doesn't know! I'm so over it, my excitement lvl went from a 10 to a 3.

She has PEPSI behind her this time. They are NOT investing all this money in her without having say in her career. They probably have as much imput, if not more, than the label.
Like I said, you have people like Madonna, Justin Timberlake, and Adele who premiered their single with SOOOO much hype, and then it kinda didn't do what it needed to do. Maybe she did not want that. This is obviously going to be a LONG era. I think she is going for her "21." "Rolling In The Deep" was out for MONTHS before it smashed, but guess what, it had longevity and was getting play on radio for 6-8 months straight.

Well if she is not ready to release something, the least she could do is tell us she is not going to release anything soon. Cause I'm sure they knew we were expecting a single? Even the media was expecting a single and they wrote articles about it. When it happened to JT, it clocked it right away and let the fans know there was no new single coming at that special time.
What good does she get from us being all frustrated and unhappy about her?
And 5 months later when JT was actually ready : he announced to the fans when exactly he will release his new song. I mean is that really too much to ask?
And please do not try to make us pass for some obsessive chart lurkers when we are not. It remains incredibly weird to let good promotional opportunities go to waste for a woman who promotes so much.

It could be a risky single that either smashed or flopped. Judging by her singles..
Crazy In Love
Deja Vu
If I Were A Boy/Single Ladies
Run The World
ALL of them could have flopped, because they are all risky. Luckily only Run The World flopped, but Crazy In Love was a HUGE risk that could have flopped so hard. She doesn't put out generic, safe singles.

If the single is experimental so what. No matter where she performs it if ppl don't like it they won't like i.e RTW. Most fans were hoping she would perform new music. The Super Bowl would have been a huge place to platform it.
After million in the first week how much did it sell in the long run?
