I still don't think it's going to be enough. ADELE is going to sweep everything, have a 60 Minutes show and two performances.
I don't doubt that Katy can easily pull 300,000+, but I doubt it's going to be enough. The new song is only okay, and it's not a collaboration like I expected. We'll see.
I remember when everyone was hyping Rihanna's new lead single because of her success in the past era, and it never hit #1 on iTunes the first week with no major competition, much less on the Hot 100.
