The thing that makes Zedd genius for me are the melodies. They are amazingly original, addictive, and lay over the production so beautifully.
For me it's a combination of her breathy voice feeling really heavy on this style of production that take the EDM out of it, it almost feels like 90's dance pop a la
I'm Every Woman or
We Got A Love Thang . That's a compliment to Ariana, but the chorus doesn't feel as bright as it should. Granted she shines on the bridge.
I could maybe get into it after a few more listens, but with Zedd, I usually like it instantly.
