I've been lurking for quite some time and I decided to join to give my 2 cents on Game of Thrones.

I've been reading that Yara's journey was pointless? It may have been pointless but it gave the audience the opportunity to see how much of a badass she is and made them familiar with her face. It was also necessary for the audience to realize that Theon (Reek) is completely gone. Otherwise, they wouldn't have bought the little mission thingy.

Some of my non bookreader friends didn't really buy the Reek thing up till last night. It confirmed that Theon is really gone and that Reek is all there is.

I disagree that the trial was better in the books... I think it was equally good. They added the right amount of scenes and it was as long as it was supposed to be. IMO, making it any longer would've made it drag.

The Iron Bank scene was okay. Loved the look of Braavos.

next Week's preview Lysa's gonna fly so soon! they are gonna have sansa's plot heavy in the next epsode.. The Snow Castle, Kissing LF, crazy Lysa long speech, LF chucking lysa out it should take more than half the episode to show all that properly!!

also.. i have been thinking about when they'll decide to move Arya's plot forward and i think in the 8th episode they will simultaneously, purposefully show both the Clegane brothers dying. Arya will kill the hound and ride away, then leaving for Braavos in 9 and reaching there in 10.
and i know mountain still stands after his battle with Oberyn in the books.. but in the show they could very well end it in sort of a draw.. oberyn will poison him with the spear, die, and the mountain will die moments later right there.
it would be so iconic to have both clegane brothers die together like this.

Also, i'm surprised how well they're pacing Dany/Arya's storylines, I thought we'd be a lot further along by now, for them i imagine the season endings will be Dany capturing the dragons and arya on the boat to braavos

haha.. i too believe in the Gravedigger theory but since that doesnt really have any significance in the books, and cant be shown in the show, they might as well have arya kill hound and be done with that

Dany/arya's plots were paced perfectly this season!! both of them had scope to go places without necessarily proceeding the plot of the book and they did just that!

i think Bran's plot was paced amazingly too, and since they dint have him meet Jon luckily, his plot remains unfaltered!
King's Landing and The Eyrie have been done ABSOLUTELY PERFECTLY this season
i think the only plots they ****ed up were of the Greyjoys/Boltons and the night's Watch.

Great great episode I loved the visuals this episode especially when Stannis arrived in that one city or Danys throne in Meeren.

EVERY storyline was interesting and that doesn't happen very often Theons sister wanting to save her brother was great .
Danys two minutes appearance was (as always ) fantastic . I still feel with her since she's realizing the first time ever how hard it is to rule and to make decisions. Of course it was deserved but as a fair leader you always have to consider every point of view , which is very hard. And I loved the scene with Drogon It was a very good translation to her moment.

Shae getting her revenge She may overreacted since Tyrion just wanted to save her but she really loved him . I wonder whats gonna happen with him in the next seasons.
The thing I disliked was that I read too many spoilers I wasn't even surprised when Shae came it was just like "ah there she is". I really need to stop to read so much spoilers .

Yeah, i hope the "next" Greyjoy plot is heavily featured in the next couple of episodes

Killing of Balon and calling a Kingsmoot that seemed like a pretty big storyline and they haven't even touched upon it

I doubt it will be though, it'll be the trial, the wall and the eyrie

I think Kingsmoot will be featured in next season probably but Balon will be killed at the end of this season. Also I wonder if they keep Quentyn Martell's storyline for next season? It seems such a pointless story in the books.

They literally pan to Oberyn looking intrigued every single time Dany's name is mentioned, haha. I think they'll include it. Also, it could have significance once the Martells actually find out that Quentyn is dead. It could cause them to back Aegon if Aegon vs. Dany ever happens.

I didn't think they could replicate the tension of the trial in the book but holy hell they did it
The goosbumps were real in the last scene
The Asha storyline was pointless tho

Seriously such a great episode, definitely the best after ep 2.

Let's get right to it: THE TRIAL. WAS INSANE. Even better than how I imagined it. The barrage of witnesses all telling the truth yet twisted so harshly that it destroyed Tyrion. Cersei's machinations and look of absolute superiority/heartlessness through it all. Jaime <3 making that deal

AND THEN. OF COURSE. THAT ****ING BITCH ASS ***** SHAE. I. WANT. HER. GONE. Ughhhhh as a book reader, I've always hated her, and though she was more likable on the show, last night's episode brought her back down to how I remember her.

"I'M GUILTY... OF BEING A DWARF." GIVE PETER ALL THE EMMY'S (except Charles' and Lena's)! I was on the floor.

Oberyn. God of council meetings, god of trials, god of Dorne, etc etc. They've done an amazing job of making him such a huge character so fast. All the people I watch the show with love him.

Dany learning to be queen! Awesome. One problem though, why isn't Daario in these scenes with her? Hmph.

Interesting how we didn't see the Stark kids at all this ep, EW pointed out that this is the first episode ever with zero Starks in it. The Lannisters, now, are the true heart of the show (and how black and cold that heart is), and I love it.

Tywin sitting in that throne looking like a TRUE king, and then during that deal with Jaime... oh he's good. He is so so good.

Asha!! I love her. So glad they showed her again, even if that was kind of pointless. They need to build her up a bit more so that the non-bookreaders are all cheering for her at the Kingsmoot next season, and this did a great job of that.

Theon can die. Like, I just want him put out of his misery. I don't feel bad for him, and I don't want to watch him. I just want him put down like the rabid senile dog he is.
