The Fame Monster sales come from the EP (1.5M) and from the deluxe version.
So, in a world where math is the queen of logic, total sales are:
The Fame Monster (EP) + The Fame Monster (Deluxe Edition) [which is the one included in The Fame sales];
The Fame (total sales) - The Fame (original CD) = The Fame Monster (Deluxe Edition).
Is it clear now?

No, in the US, the deluxe counted towards both TF and TFM. They released it that way SPECIFICALLY to inflate TF's sales in the US.

Did Gaga take some notes from the other gerls? Did she ride the dick? Troy Carter's? Elvis Duran? JoJo 9@9?
VERY CONTROVERSIAL.

you're right that they release TFM to inflate TF's sales in US.
But deluxe version sales still doesn't count toward TFM, it counts toward TF only. Go search at Billboard then you will know.
Billboard won't allow double counting tbh.

No, TFM was released both as an EP (which sold 1.5M) and a deluxe with TF (which counted for TF total along with the original TF album sales). At least this is what I have always known.

Yes, it is.
The Fame era is the one with the biggest impact so so far. As I said, album sales were pretty good but became excellent only after the release of the EP.

That's what I said.
The Fame = The Fame
The Fame Monster = The Fame Monster EP
The Fame (Monster) = The Deluxe which had TF + TFM
The Fame = The Fame sales
The Fame Monster = The Fame Monster EP sales
The Fame (Monster) = The Fame + The Fame Monster EP sales
Whenever someone bought the deluxe in the US, it counted towards both TF and TFM EP sales.
Whenever someone bought TFM EP in the US, it counted towards just TFM EP sales.
Whenever someone bought TF in the US, it counted towards just TF sales.
The numbers say TFM has sold 1.5m copies in the US. If deluxe + TFM EP pushed over 3m in the us, TFM's final US sales would reflect that and be at 3m+, but it's not, which means more people bought TF alone.
|
That should do I think. BTW is more iconic and will have more impact in every aspect, in my perspective, just because this era was designed to be that. In some interview she compared this era to the Beatles 'Revolver' and how their fans LOATHED it. But now, it is their best album to date and is the best album of all time by many critics. It was just too ahead of their time. Born This Way will be the same, but as 'Revolver' it's just matter of time for people to realize it. And if she's pulling those numbers with BTW after being the 'it' grl (she isn't that anymore) and is on her own strut, I perceive it as amazing. Just my opinion though

Correct, even Billboard made it clear the week TFM was released.
Sales for EP goes to TFM (EP) sales, that's why it is so low at 1.5m only. DONT TELL ME THAT YOU THOUGHT TFM SOLD ONLY 1.5m in US
Sales for Deluxe goes to TF sales. thus TF sales is inflated thanks to the TF(M) sales.
Clear now everyone ?
(thanks to gaga, now everyone is confuse. ..)

I'm confused now, too. I was told by Propagaga that the deluxe counted towards both albums in the US because the deluxe contained both CDs and they did it that way to inflate TF's sales. However, it wasn't like that in other countries because they didn't split the deluxe into two albums. I think that's where the confusion comes from.
Oh well, the point is gone now.
