I saw it recently. I thought the praise is a little overrated. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it and the cast is stellar. Bale, Cooper, Adams, Lawrence, Renner, DeNiro all incredible actors. I just thought the plot was a bit basic for a con-man/hustle movie. It is not a patch on The Usual Suspects or Ocean's 11 or Confidence
In American Hustle I was most impressed with Christians Bale's comb-over and Amy Adams looked really hot with her outfits, especially compared to her Lois Lane rendition in Man of Steel.
I thought Gravity was a much better film and the Wolf of Wall St was more enjoyable. Prisoners was really excellent too and should be up for more awards.
If Jennifer Lawrence wins, I am happy for her as I like her, but I thought she was massively outshone by Amy Adams.
They are surely gonna bring up last year because it got so big in the media and reporters were even asking Tina on the street about it.
