I remember Michael Trevino once said in an interview the plan was for 6 seasons and then to finish the show before it outstays its welcome.

The cure is also a way to get rid of Klaus if you think of it, once everyone they care about in his bloodline is human they can kill him with the conveniently indestructible white oak stake!

Damn, just after I just finish saying that Klaus' "keep him alive for the cure" would give the writers leeway to make Connor's stay long, they up and kill him. He was a serious bad ass and I'm gonna miss him. But I have to give the show credit, they know how to do their twists/shocks.

I want Elijah back because every time he and Elena meet I swear there is chemistry seeping off their skin like I need them to have a thing.
