I'm perfectly fine with Nicki turning into a Lana Del Rey type of artist, success wise. Not huge sales or chart positions, but a very loyal following and critical acclaim.
As of right now, she's still kind of in the same place she's been. PnP did well enough to peak at #24 despite not being a summer friendly joint like super Bass or SS. I think the GP is still thirsty for her, she just hasn't really put out a pop-friendly single that she slays lyrically.
I still believe if she put out a song that was as catchy as Starships, but had the bars of LAN (albeit, cleaner), she'd slay the charts.
