So close, yet so far.

Basically here's what happened - I wait for roughly 4 hours, possibly longer at the arena, they had like these barriers up and everyone was standing up there, however, the eventually told us, this area wasn't anywhere near the door the boys would be going in, so we should move if we wanted to see them, to a much higher metal fence (

) so we moved and the excitement happened. They arrive in this big orange bus, that's what they came in yesterday so that was what everyone was waiting for. So around 4:30 maybe, just a little earlier, the big orange bus came up and everything went CRAZY. People were running about left right and centre (there was atleast 1,000 people there) trying to see them. Almost straight after all that happened, the security guards were pretty much saying the show was over etc and there was nothing to see, but everyone was still fighting their way through because no one had actually seen the boys to believe them. However, after waiting another little while, their soundcheck came on, so by the looks of things, the boys intentionally snuck in. Not gonna lie, I'm a bit dissapointed they would intentionally avoid their fans, but I can live.

It just wasn't meant to be today.

Omg that sucks sfm. You could try to go back to their hotel after the show? They have the day off tomorrow so I'm willing to bet they stay another night there. Maybe they'll go out tonight since all but Harry stayed in last night

This makes me thankful I'm probably seeing them in a city of around 14,000 people

I'm not going to the actual show tonight, and (JD is going to kill me for this) I rejected an offer by another fan to buy a ticket off them. I would have had to sit with them for the night and I tried to get to know them but it just turned to be pretty awkward. We exchanged numbers and I told her if I was still interested I'd call her, I'd have needed to go to a bank though. And we split up after all the excitement happened and I just decided not to bother. I'd have felt really awkward sitting beside them and trying to have a good time, especially because her and her friends would be having fin together and I'd just have been there all alone. I'm not that mad though, today was still fun, I enjoyed the adrenaline rush I got from the excitement even if the outcome was a let down. I'll see them the next time there here and I'll meet them at some point!

Did some math. Assuming the formula's people have are correct OWOA will need 10 million in streaming to be able to be roughly equal with Rihanna's Stay (which I expect to be in the top 10 though lower than last week at #3). This is going off her sales/airplay from THIS week and her streaming numbers from LAST week.

To get to #3 they would need 14/15 million in streams to pass Scream and Shout (again.... going off THIS weeks airplay and sales and LAST weeks streaming).

The problem is that we have NO ****ing clue how to predict streaming from youtube. This will be the first major video debut since it was added to the Hot 100 so its a test case.

Well, does streaming equal straight off of views? I recon if that's the case we would have at least 17 million. Right now on YouTube we have 21 million, but I don't think the full 21 million will count. Especially because we're missing out a day (the premiere day), so that actually could bring the streaming numbers down a huge amount.

The premiere of the video was not the same day as the release of the single so it will be counted.

It includes all views of video's with at least 30 seconds of the track (this includes fan made videos and lyric video's), but ONLY those from the USA which makes predictions hard since 1D is not a US band. My guess is that the video did about 15 million WW by the end of the week. Probably another 5 million from fan video's and the lyric video if we are lucky. So 20 million total......... no idea how many of those will count as from the US.

Then you have to add in streams from Spotify and other streaming services.

Its a #MESS in other words.

So, the #8 is just for the digital chart, but we still have the Hot 100? Taking everything into consideration, I'm gonna guess we can possibly get #5. Although I have no clue how radio's have been backing it in the US as I don't live there. Honestly, it'd be so much easier if Billboard just went off sales.

Eh. I prefer to have one chart that takes multiple factors into consideration. We do have a hot digital songs chart for tracking the best sellers.

Yeah there was 0 chance of that. Harlem had 100 million streams last week...... no one was touching that. Plus it was the #1 selling single.

Thrift shop was #2 in both categories with 300k+ sales and 10 million+ stream PLUS over 100 million AI on radio.

Would have taken a miracle to pass both as a charity single.
