If you watched basketball, Tim Duncan is a great example. People pay to see him because he's a basketball legend and he's a good player but anyone who is a fan of the NBA will tell you how boring he is. His nickname is "The Big fundamental", he's good but there's nothing exciting about watching him play whatsoever.

You act like I'm negating the fact that Tim Duncan is considered "boring". My point is, that J. Cole is not the "Tim Duncan of rap," simply because Tim Duncan brings in sales, the rings, etc. J. Cole just stays in his lane, despite being "good" or "boring." He doesn't really sell records or get acclaim like Tim Duncan sells tickets and wins championship rings. And you asked why is J. Cole still trying to happen, then said the reason why you feel that way is because he's boring, which doesn't really make sense with your Tim Duncan comparison, since being boring never stopped Tim Duncan from being one of the biggest and most known basketball players in modern history. lol

I never said he was bad, or wasn't good I just said that he was boring. Nor was I using success in my comparison to Tim Duncan. I was mostly talking about skill level. Comparing his rapping to Tim's basketball playing. Obviously he is not as successful.
