Britney Spears makes her appearance on the top 10 with the third single from Femme Fatale for I Wanna Go. Just like what I stated on the albums list, this song wasn’t my favorite from that record. It only struck me when this was confirmed as the next single. When the music video came out, I did not expect something spectacular but this time I was impressed on what it turned out to be. I so adore this cheeky video. Britney looks so young and happy at the same time. In my opinion, she looks stunning with those pink highlights rather than Avril Lavigne. The press conference in the beginning is one the highlight of the video as Britney was asked with nonsense questions up to the point she got pissed off and replied “**** you”. Another highlight is her fight scene which she uses her microphone as a weapon against the paparazzi. Such a fun video that includes the irresistible whistle all throughout making me love I Wanna Go up until now. This song managed to reach the top 10 in the Billboard Hot 100 earning Britney her first album to have three top 10 hits. It also peaked atop the Pop Songs chart, becoming Britney's sixth single to top the chart, and setting a record for the longest span of number-one singles by an artist. I Wanna Go is a bit of a risk as a follow-up single from Femme Fatale, the good thing about it is that it worked this time. With that enough success it attained and as a big fan of hers, I Wanna Go truly deserved to have a spot in my top 10 list.

One of the magnificent songs last year was the monster hit E.T. by Katy Perry. This song is one of the brilliant tracks from her record breaking album Teenage Dream. Katy sings about looking for an extraordinary love, somewhat out of this world. The song is a grower for me, I didn’t pay that much attention to it whenever I listen to her album. However, when this was confirmed as a single, I always get the chance to hear it on the radios making me fell in love with it finally, As for chart supremacy, I have no idea if E.T. will be another success after her first three chart toppers, but after a couple of weeks, it slowly climbed the charts until it reached the summit especially in the Billboard Hot 100. What better ways to make this #1 is having rapper Kanye West as a featured artist. The song was even accompanied by one of the best music videos of the year where we see Katy as an alien princess drifting in the air up to the point where she landed to the abandoned Earth to find her extraordinary lover. She truly looks marvelous on the three outfits she wore as an alien together with those reptile-like eyes and Medusa-esque braids. When E.T. was on its peaked, it was unstoppable especially on the digital downloads. Truly, Katy had an amazing 2011 and E.T. is one of the reason behind it. With her creativity and being on top of the charts right now, we’ll definitely see more of her if not with Teenage Dream, maybe on her next record.
