The Jay Z album thing is pretty unpredictable at the moment. Jay Z's last solo album was in 2009, and it sold over 400k first week. Bu that's because Jay Z's name was attached to it.

Y'all, really? I think a #2 is something to be incredibly happy about. For REAL, that's phenomenal. She hasn't been there for years. A #2 album will make this her second most successful album and that's more than any of us had expected coming into this era. I'm just proud she's done anything at all. All of this! I mean Basic Instinct debuted at what? #43?? Lol a top 5 album would be phenomenal at this point not to even mention if it debuted at #2!

IMO, the fact that it's solidified in the top 5 on the Hot 200 is just crazy. And she's making a COMPLETE return. I'm so happy.

At first they didn't really gave a **** about Ciara, they were trying to put her back in the game without promo, it didn't work, so they decided to really put money on her! That's when they cancelled the "One Woman Army" era and started a whole new one.
Body Party was an amazing single choice, timing for the video release and performances were also incredible for its Hot 100 position.
All the TV performances, interviews, budget increase + good promo like the iTunes stream and the promo videos etc!
Also, when the album leaked, they did such a good job trying to find and delete the songs online, after like 3 days it was really hard to find a link to download the album, and even with that, I'm sure the leak won't affect sales.
For the 1st time ever I believe Epic is doing a REALLY GOOD job.
Well tbh, Basic Instinct would've done much better on the charts and in sales had it been released when Ride was at its peak (around August, which was the original release date). It could've debuted at #1 and Top 5 for sure; it would've been possible.
But this will still do better since Body Party is a bigger hit and we have much more promo.
