Where's Nicole? I just finished "Gone Girl." It was literally one very long episode of "Desperate Housewives."

In any case, everyone in "Gone Girl" was terrible except for "Leftover's" Carrie Coon and Rosamund Pike, even though Pike essentially just photocopied Brenda Strong's diction as Mary Alice Young when she narrated her diary. Going into "Gone Girl" with very low expectations, I was pleasantly surprised by Coon and Pike. They were the only highlights of the film and deserve some type of recognition. Oscars? No. But definitely some Golden Globe and SAG noms.

And I'm kind of surprised I know nothing about Pike and her career, given how good she is.
After watching how captivating Rosamund Pike was in "Gone Girl," I was like, "Why don't I know you"?



P.S. It is absolutely unacceptable for a non-action, non-sci-fi, non-adventure,
non-war biopic, non-James Cameron film to be over 2 hours and 30 minutes.

I agree. I think it's a tad overrated but it's still a decent enough movie. But yeah, it's too long .

Yeah, "Gone Girl" is definitely overrated. And you know the film has issues when the studio has the press "leak" information about Ben Affleck's penis, instead of, say, Ben Affleck's performance (which was terrible), to generate buzz for the film.

My life feels like a movie in slow motion. And as I try to live in the moment and be mindful I realize I'm writing the script to the next scene. Is this the source of the torture of the artist? We must be inspired by nature and yet we are constantly synthesizing it so do we ever live it? Or are we always writing it's next great fantasy? Are we playing God? Because certainly it would be foolish to think one could create something more beautiful than nature itself.

I don't think that's the Fassbender one. I could be wrong. The Fassbender one is supposed to be some kind of musical. But anyway, the trailer looked boring and pretentious, like most of Terrence Malick's films. Just watching the Fassbender one because Michael Fassbender, Rooney Mara, Cate Blanchett, and Ryan Gosling are in it. Won't be watching "Knight of Cups." It looks like a lifeless version of "The Wolf of Wall Street," but shot with an iPhone camera.
