lpd... the video likely wouldn't slay if Kelly has no desire to make it slay. See Dark Side. It's cute but simple. No slayage. But the song had the potential to give us her greatest video since BTHE.

I think I've decided. I know Kelly likes to change up what she does and not put out the same album twice and all that....(even though there's nothing new on Stronger that she hasn't done before) .. but I want her to do a full blown rock/dance/pop infused 6th album with anthems like MLWS/SUBG/WDKY and some killer ballads/mid tempos a la BOY/AG/DS/TWIO. I want the album to be all about her finding love and loving the ****. And I want her to work with Max Martin again. **** Luke. If she stuck to formula and worked with all the biggest hitmakers...maybe Calvin Harris as well...I think she could top her Breakaway success. Not with album sales, obviously, but as far as #1's and digital sales. She could probably top Teenage Dream as well. Everyone is here for her voice, just not always her songs. I guess what I'm getting at, is that I don't want her to compromise what she wants to do as far as song content or whatever.. but let's be honest. Kelly doesn't stray very far from mainstream/formula songs. She might as well record with the big hit makers. She can still have a sound that's different than others. And she can slay the living **** out of these lessor pop gorls in the process.

I sometimes wish she would do stuff like this but I have given up hope that she will and I am kinda glad she doesn't in a way.. I think it would be better if she took the Adele route and did something slightly less generic with lesser known producers and maybe something amazing would come of it.. Especially if she (co)wrote most/all of it and worked with only a few producers instead of a bunch of different producers and writers. It is a big risk, but I think she has the potential to make a truly flawless album with great lyrics and production. MD had the lyrics but the production wasn't great.
What kind of sucks is that it seems the public only sees her as doing boy bashing songs and while she gets a lot of respect for having an amazing voice, I don't think she is very respected musically. It could be hard for her to change peoples perception of her and to get people to take her seriously if she comes out with something different.
Pop adds just updated again - Dark Side has 6 now, including one big add in Seattle which is ranked #13!! This is great considering we only got ONE last week. We won't be seeing large quantities of stations adding the song since her adds day is long gone and that's when the majority will add. But 6 is good!! Hopefully this helps the spins keep increasing this week. Slow and steady.

i don't see her doing that. Not her style at all unfortunately. The idea of Kelly being top artist is awesome, but I don't see it. But at the same time I don't want her to go mainstream formula.
