Yes very true. Especially when you consider the fact that her peers at the time of the her peak such as Ami Suzuki, MISIA, Hikaru Utada, Mai Kuraki, etc have pretty much fizzled out or choose to give up on music for an extended period of time yet Ayu remains the monumental legend that she is and continues to work hard, explore different genres, and break new boundries. I'm so proud of her

Her voice is so unique and amazing. I still get emotional listening to JEWEL. I love that her tone works so well in Japanese but could never work in English.
