With that being said, how would you feel/handle it if Hilary's next album isn't successful? Say the sales are negligible. It doesn't chart, or if it does, barely. Tour tickets don't sell, tour is cancelled, there's no radioplay for a single. How would you feel about that if it happened?
I really think that isn't too far fetched. I also think it's not too far fetched to think she could be huge. Lot's people lay low for years and come back just as big, or bigger than ever. It also happens alot where huge stars lay low, attempt a comeback and nothing happens.

So about the question, how would I feel if the album is not successful.... Honestly I'd handle it quite well. I'm not entering this new era expecting much. She's been gone from the public eye for quite some time. There are no scandals to refresh people's minds, and she hasn't done a major role in forever.
However, I do have faith in the fact that she once DID sell a ton of albums. Her old fanbase is still out there. Unfortunately, most of that fanbase felt that had to outgrow her because she wasn't cool anymore back in the late 2000's. I do feel that she has been able to tap into some of that old fanbase as of late with the amount of growth and maturity Hilary has established over the past few years.
That being said, there's no guarantee they will buy her album. However, Hilary has constantly been scrutinized as only doing music because she woke up one day deciding she wanted to. That is partly true. But to restart a music career, after over 5 years off in the industry, tells you something about Hilary. While she may have begun her music career on a whim, she has the drive and motivation to continue, even after being gone for so long. Hilary has found that music indeed is her calling and she must continue. So to really answer your question, I am prepared for the worst as well, because all that matters at the end of the day is that Hilary tried.
Whether the album sells 1 million copies or 100,000 copies, I am here for that passion that Hilary has for making music on her own dime and time. If her tour is canceled, I'd be devastated. I wouldn't be surprised if radio doesn't pick her up immediately. Starting off at the beginning is going to take dedication and push from Hilary's side as well as any label she chooses to sign with.
