Mariah: It depends. If it's someone I know, someone that I know that brings opinions that I agree with, I do. But keeping there just reading negativity stuff are vibes I don't want for me. I am a very positive person. I don't like to see unnecessary things. But, that said, I need to get to know stuff and keep updated about things that are being said.
Papelpop: A really good thing about the Internet is the music, you get to know new artists... It may have "killed" the industry but...
(Mariah Carey wides her eyes and look around, as if she is asking for help)
Papelpop: ...But it also helped sharing a lot of music and bring more music to the world. Don't you agree?
Mariah: It's easy for you to say that (Mariah throws her hair and turns back to me) because you have a job different of mine's... Killed the music industry? Grrrrreat! Grrrreat! (Mariah laughs). But it didn't "kill" the music industry.
Papelpop: I'm sorry, of course the music industry is still alive but in another way. It doesn't sell as many albums as before...
Mariah: Yes, but you have to know how to do it nowadays. What was really killed was this activity: back then people could go to a music shop and listen to music there, I remind having this experience as a kid... I'm not even saying whose (album) whatever it was because it's gonna sound like I'm saying it on purpose but... going to the store (Mariah was laughing of herself) and listening to and looking at an album of a particular person...
Papelpop: Who is this person?
No. (Mariah turns down her head and keep saying no with her fingers covered by a black glove, right next to my face). No, no. I can't say because they're gonna think I'm saying it to be... slay the person and I'm not. But I just wanted to see what they looked like because I'd always planned like having one name, like doing one name for my... as an artist. I always supposed it'd gonna be Mariah. Papelpop: Choose your favorite: Minnie Mouse or Shrek?
Mariah: I can't. My kids used to love Shrek but then they got scared. So all I watched was Shrek for six months.
Papelpop: Really?
Mariah: (laughs) Really. When I go to bed I watch whatever I want but when we went together we watched Shrek. At least Shrek has several movies. I choose Shrek as a movie but of course I love Disney so Minnie is a favorite.
